Star Story!

Our Star Story today comes from Melissa Cronin!

I have been married to my husband George for 48 years. I joined my husband in retirement in 2014 and enjoy the freedom of doing whatever we feel like doing. I love reading, singing and being with my Eastern Star Sisters and Brother. My greatest joy is being a Mother of 4 Sons and a Grandmother to two Grandsons (13 years old and 2 years old) and one Granddaughter (7 months). We are expecting another Granddaughter the end of July. Our sons all live outside of California so we have many places to visit.

I joined Eastern Star with my husband George in 1977 when his Mother was serving as the Chapter’s Conductress. I was a Rainbow girl and served as Worthy Advisor in 1968. I met my husband on a blind date at a DeMolay dance. I worked with the Rainbow girls for 32 years and also with the DeMolays while my sons were active.

My favorite memories are many as I have served as Worthy Matron 4 times, Deputy Grand Matron 3 times and was honored to serve as a Grand Page for Roger Nieder in 2015. But I must say the best was when I was asked to serve as California’s Grand Martha in 2008 – what a year to remember.
