Ocean Park Star proudly supports many charities. We have several that we continually support and the Grand Chapter of California chooses special charities yearly which we support as well. Please contact us if you’d like to help us support these great charities!
The Fisher House is where loved ones/families of wounded vets can stay, free of charge, while a loved one is receiving treatment. They also ensure that vets are not burdened with unnecessary expense during a time of crisis. We host a Veteran’s breakfast every October and donate all proceeds to the Fisher House specifically for their Holiday Party. So that all residents can have presents, a tree and an extra special meal during the holidays.
The Los Angeles VA Hospital We make up kits for the service men & women and include/accept the following:
NEW reading materials (no hardbacks, please), new or gently used clothing (men’s and women’s), caps or hats, socks, belts, puzzles, games, reading glasses, canes, small portable appliances, CDs and DVDs (no VHS please) and hygiene materials (small shampoos, toothbrushes, handwipes, etc.).
West Los Angeles Animal Shelter
We donate food, old (clean) towels, newspaper, pet food, toys and other pet related items.
Grand Chapter’s charity this year is our local food banks.
We're getting involved in our local community by working with and donating to your local food banks. Deputy Grand Matrons have grocery bags with "Eastern Star Cares" and our logo. Please bring your donations to Chapter and we'll deliver to the food banks.
